Chemical Free for Our Pets
Chemical-Free Pet Care: Protecting Wildlife and the Environment
Why Choose Natural Flea & Tick Treatments

Fur and hair shed from pets after chemical flea treatments often end up in bird nests. Studies confirm these residues can kill chicks, contributing to declining bird populations.
Wildlife and aquatic species are also impacted — but this is something we can change.
Natural flea deterrents are widely available, safe, and effective. Many pets dislike chemical treatments anyway, often becoming lethargic or unwell afterward.
Cats and the Hidden Impact on Birdlife
Cats are often blamed for harming bird populations, and keeping them indoors overnight helps reduce this.
But more small birds die as chicks in the nest — poisoned by chemical residues in cat and other pets' fur and hair, used for nest-building.
Unfortunately, many “natural” flea formulas still contain neem and certain essential oils toxic to cats.
After careful research, I developed a gentle, cat-safe blend for my own cat, Misty.
She’s healthier, happier, and her fur no longer sheds harmful residues into the environment.

I’ve followed ASPCA and veterinary guidelines, using only safe essential oils at a low 0.5% concentration — ideal for cats’ sensitive noses.
You can find this formula at the website shop, 'Only Natural', available at cost — a small, grassroots effort to give Nature a helping hand.
Feline-Friendly Natural Formula
Cats require unique care — many natural pet products are formulated for dogs and other animals, and contain ingredients harmful to felines, such as citrus or neem.
My gentle formula includes Certified Organic:
- Calendula (soothes and heals)
- Aloe (Soothes, protects)
- Apple Cider Vinegar (Deterrent, soothes, skin & digestive aid)
- Frankincense Serrata (deterrent)
- Cedarwood (natural insecticide)
- Lavender (deterrent, repels)
It’s a balanced, soothing tincture — effective, kind, and safe.
Note: As with all natural products, discontinue use if your cat shows any irritation or discomfort.
Make the Change
Switching to natural pet care takes a little more time and touch, but it’s deeply worthwhile.
If you can’t go fully natural, use chemical treatments only when absolutely necessary — for instance, during winter when flea activity is low it may not be required.
By making this one small change, we can help protect our beautiful birdlife.
The birds thank you. Your pets thank you. And I thank you.
