General Precautions & Storage Guidance

(Boardwalk Essences — classical aromatherapy, sensory use)

Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts, and most people enjoy them comfortably. Everyone’s system is different, so it’s important to use them with care.

  • Always dilute essential oils before applying them to the skin.
  • Avoid use on broken or irritated skin.
  • Keep oils away from the eyes and mucous membranes.
  • If you experience redness, itching, or discomfort, discontinue use and wash the area with mild soapy water.
  • Be aware that anyone can have an allergic reaction to something inhaled, ingested, or applied to the skin. If a reaction appears severe, or does not settle promptly, seek medical assistance.
  • Some expressed citrus oils may increase sun sensitivity. Avoid direct sunlight on the area for around 20–30 minutes after application. Most people never experience a reaction, especially with very dilute blends.
  • Store oils safely and keep them out of reach of children and pets.
  • If pregnant, breastfeeding, managing a medical condition, or taking medication, seek guidance before using essential oils.
  • Avoid direct use on infants or around pets unless specifically advised by a qualified practitioner.
  • Never ingest essential oils unless under the care of a qualified practitioner.
  • Use diffusers in well‑ventilated spaces and avoid prolonged exposure.

Storage:  Store essential oils away from direct sunlight in a cool, dark place between 10–30°C. Do not refrigerate, as some natural compounds may solidify, separate, or lose clarity at very low temperatures. Keep bottles tightly closed to maintain freshness and prevent oxidation.

Educational use:  Boardwalk Sessions offer general aromatherapy education and sensory exploration. They are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
